Marcel
Graf joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo in January 2008. He earned
his diploma in Experimental Physics from the Swiss Federal Institute of
Technology, Zürich in 1998 and completed his PhD at the Physics Institute
of the University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland on Quantum Cascade
Detectors in the far- and mid-infrared wavelength range.
In
2006-2007 M. Graf worked in the Terahertz and Imaging group at the Institute of Microstructural
Sciences, National Research Council of Canada in Ottawa. His research
interests cover semiconductor physics and technology, optoelectronics,
Terahertz radiation detection and generation, and numerical simulations.
His recent publications cover quantum cascade detectors in several
semiconductor material systems, and their high speed operation.
